The eastern slope of Mount Everest is celebrated among trekking enthusiasts as one of the world’s top ten trekking routes. For countless mountaineers, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Along the trail, trekkers are treated to breathtaking, close-up views of several majestic snow-capped giants — including Mount Everest (the world’s highest peak at 8,848 meters), Lhotse (the fourth highest at 8,516 meters), and Makalu (the fifth highest at 8,485 meters).
