ZXMOTO Makes History at WSBK
Recently, there has been another wave of enthusiasm for motorcycles among Chinese men. The main reasons is that the Chinese motorcycle brand ZXMOTO made history at the Superbike World Championship (WSBK) by winning both WorldSSP (Supersport) races at the Portugal round on March 28–29, 2026. This marked a historic breakthrough for Chinese motorcycle brands in this global racing system, challenging the decades-long dominance of established European and Japanese manufacturers such as Ducati, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Honda.
Zhang Xue, the founder of ZXMOTO, was born in 1987 into a financially struggling family. From a young age, he loved motorcycles and racing. Due to financial difficulties, he dropped out of school and began working at a motorcycle repair shop right after middle school. Life was not easy, but he never gave up on his passion or his dream. While working, he kept learning, improving his skills, and gaining experience step by step. Later, he entered the motorcycle industry and worked at KOVE MOTO, one of China’s leading motorcycle companies, where he turned his passion into a career and eventually became Vice President of R&D. In 2025, he left KOVE MOTO and founded his own brand, ZXMOTO, focusing on developing his own engines and models. In just one year, ZXMOTO was able to achieve remarkable success on the international racing stage. This was more than just a race victory — it marked a historic breakthrough for China’s motorcycle industry.
최근 중국 남성들 사이에서 오토바이에 대한 열풍이 다시 일고 있습니다. ㅋㅋㅋ 그 이유는 바로 중국 오토바이 브랜드 ZXMOTO가 2026년 3월 28일부터 29일까지 포르투갈에서 열린 세계 슈퍼바이크 챔피언십(WSBK) WorldSSP(슈퍼스포츠) 부문에서 두 번의 레이스 모두 우승하며 역사를 만들었기 때문입니다. 이는 두카티, 야마하, 가와사키, 혼다와 같은 유럽 및 일본 브랜드가 수십 년간 이어온 지배 구도에 도전하며, 글로벌 레이싱 무대에서 중국 오토바이 브랜드의 역사적인 돌파를 의미합니다.
장쉐는 ZXMOTO의 창립자로, 1987년 어려운 가정 형편 속에서 태어났습니다. 그는 어릴 때부터 오토바이와 레이싱을 좋아했습니다. 가정 형편이 어려워 중학교를 졸업한 뒤 곧바로 작은 오토바이 수리점에서 일을 시작했습니다. 삶은 쉽지 않았지만, 그는 자신의 열정과 꿈을 포기하지 않았습니다. 일하면서도 끊임없이 배우고 기술을 향상시키며, 경험을 차근차근 쌓아갔습니다. 이후 그는 오토바이 산업에 진출해 중국의 대표적인 오토바이 기업 중 하나인 KOVE MOTO에서 근무하며 자신의 열정을 커리어로 발전시켰고, 결국 연구개발 부사장 자리까지 올랐습니다. 2025년에는 KOVE MOTO를 떠나 자신의 브랜드 ZXMOTO를 창립하고, 독자적인 엔진과 모델 개발에 집중하기 시작했습니다. 단 1년 만에 ZXMOTO는 국제 레이싱 무대에서 이처럼 뛰어난 성과를 이루어냈습니다. 이는 단순한 경기 우승을 넘어, 중국 오토바이 산업에 역사적인 돌파구를 마련한 순간이었습니다!
I probably don’t even need to say this — everyone knows Chinese products are hard to ignore when it comes to price. They look good, offer solid quality, and are surprisingly affordable, often costing only one-half to one-fifth as much as their European and Japanese counterparts.
이건 굳이 제가 따로 말하지 않아도 다들 잘 아실 거예요. 중국 제품은 가격 경쟁력 면에서 정말 무시할 수 없죠. 디자인도 예쁘고 품질도 탄탄한데, 가격은 놀랄 만큼 합리적입니다. 유럽이나 일본 제품과 비교하면 보통 절반에서 많게는 5분의 1 수준의 가격인 경우도 있습니다.
