Movie Theater Etiquette is Dead

I think people in Korea are generally pretty good at following movie theater etiquette. There was this one time, though, when the woman sitting next to me seemed to be using the movie to practice her English. Every time one of the characters said something, she’d repeat it right after them. I can tell she’s Korean from her strong Korean accent. That’s the only time I’ve ever experienced anything like that, but it was definitely unforgettable.

한국에서는 사람들이 대체로 영화관 에티켓을 잘 지키는 것 같아요. 그런데 딱 한 번, 제 옆에 앉은 여자가 영화를 보면서 영어 공부를 하는 것 같더라고요. 영화 속 인물이 한마디 할 때마다 그대로 따라 하는 거예요. 한국식 억양을 들어보니 한국인인 게 확실해요.그런 경험은 그때가 처음이자 마지막이었는데, 아직도 잊을 수가 없어요. ㅋㅋㅋ
