There has been a lot of talk lately about Michelle Yeoh‘s potential to become the first Asian American woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress. However, it’s important to acknowledge that a century ago, there was already a remarkably gifted Chinese actress, Anna May Wong, who made her mark in Hollywood. In fact, Wong was the first Asian person to be featured on the back of an American coin.
