I read Mark Twain’s ‘Running for Governor’ when I was a kid. It’s a satirical essay that tells the story of a candidate caught up in the wild chaos of a political campaign, full of humor and absurd twists. Back then, I thought it was pure fiction—a funny exaggeration of what a campaign might look like. But now, looking back, I can’t help but think Twain was capturing a truth about politics that still holds up today. Maybe I’ll give it another read before calling it a night. 🤔😗😉
