How China Uses Drones to Handle Traffic Accidents Efficiently

I got out of Incheon Airport around 5:50 PM, and it was raining. But luckily, traffic wasn’t heavy at first, which gave me a quiet sense of relief. Just when I thought I was almost home, I came across not one but two car accidents on Olympic Daero. Didn’t get back until 8:30 PM.

In China, when a traffic accident occurs, a drone is often the first to arrive at the scene. It captures photos, collects data, and provides instructions on what to do next. In the case of minor incidents, the entire process can typically be completed on-site, with any necessary follow-up actions handled later.

On a side note, drone piloting has emerged as a new profession in China, and there is strong demand for operators across many sectors.

5시 50분쯤 인천공항 나왔는데, 비가 내리고 있더라고요. 그래도 초반에는 길이 막히지 않아서 속으로 살짝 기뻤어요. 그런데 거의 도착할 무렵, 올림픽대로에서 교통사고 현장을 두 번이나 지나쳤고, 결국 집에 도착한 시간은 저녁 8시 30분이었어요.

중국에서는 교통사고가 발생하면 드론이 가장 먼저 현장에 도착하는 경우가 많습니다. 드론이 사고 현장을 촬영하고, 관련 데이터를 수집한 뒤, 필요한 조치를 안내합니다. 경미한 사고의 경우 대부분의 절차는 현장에서 바로 처리되며, 추가적인 조치는 나중에 진행됩니다.
