J-35 Becomes First Stealth Jet Launched from Carrier with EMALS
China has just reached a new milestone—using electromagnetic catapults on the Fujian carrier to launch the J-35 stealth jet, the J-15T, and the KJ-600. Unlike the U.S., which went through the steam catapult stage, we skipped directly to electromagnetic launch.
The U.S. developed EMALS (Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System) as a replacement for steam catapults, but to this day it has not launched an F-35 from a Ford-class carrier in real operational service.
As always, some media follow the same tired routine: first they call it “fake,” then when proven real, they dismiss it as a “copy.” Once that’s disproven, they fall back on “no combat experience.” It’s nothing but self-soothing—like closing your eyes and pretending it’s nighttime. If that’s the comfort they need, let them have it. It makes zero difference to us!
