Mira (2022)

“Mira” is a 2022 Russian sci-fi disaster drama movie that follows a young girl named Lera, whose life is turned upside down when a massive meteor shower strikes Earth. Her father, who has been working on an orbiting space station called Mira, tries to guide and protect her from space while the world below falls into chaos. It’s a fine movie, but definitely not amazing, I’d give it 6 out of 10.

I believe that human beings will someday vanish, just as the dinosaurs did—whatever the cause may be. In the end, the extinction of our species is simply a matter of time. But that doesn’t make our life pointless. What gives our lives value is the way we live them, not how our story ends.

By the way, I just watched a recently released Korean sci-fi movie on Netflix, and honestly, great special effects can’t save a bad script. The script is basically one big bug report. I’d give it 2 out of 10.

「미라」는 2022년 개봉한 러시아 SF 재난 드라마로, 거대한 유성우가 지구를 강타하면서 삶이 송두리째 뒤바뀐 소녀 레라의 이야기를 따라갑니다. ‘미라’라는 궤도 우주정거장에서 일하는 그녀의 아버지는, 아래 세계가 혼란에 빠져가는 동안 우주에서 딸을 이끌고 지키려 애씁니다. 괜찮은 영화긴 한데, 제 기준에서는 10점 만점에 6점 정도예요.

저는 언젠가 인간이—그 이유가 무엇이든—공룡처럼 사라질 거라고 믿습니다. 결국 인류의 멸종은 단지 시간문제일 뿐이죠. 그렇다고 삶이 무의미해지는 건 아니에요. 우리 삶에 가치를 부여하는 건 결과가 아니라, 우리가 어떻게 살아가느냐—바로 그 과정이라고 생각합니다.

그나저나 방금 넷플릭스에서 최근에 나온 한국 SF 영화를 봤는데요. 뭐랄까… 특수효과가 아무리 좋아도 각본이 망이면 답이 없더라고요. 각본이 거의 버그 리포트 한 장 수준이었어요. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 죄송하지만 10점 만점에 2점밖에 못 주겠어요.
