A Rocket Crossing the Road

Here is China’s Long March 8A rocket!
This massive rocket is transported upright—even across regular roads—on its way to the launch site. Quite a sight.
So why does China keep launching rockets and satellites and exploring space?
Well, some people would tell you it’s all about getting international recognition and making its presence felt.

이렇게 거대한 로켓을 세운 채, 심지어 일반 도로까지 가로질러 발사장으로 이동시킵니다. 꽤 장관이네요.
그런데 중국은 왜 그렇게 자꾸 로켓을 쏘고, 위성을 올리고, 우주로 나가려고 할까요?
어떤 분들 말씀대로라면 국제사회에서 인정받고 싶어서, 존재감을 드러내고 싶어서… 이른바 중국의 ‘인정욕구’를 만족시키려고 그러는 거겠죠. 😂
