Cenote Verde Lucero, Mexico

Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula has the world’s largest number of underground sinkholes called cenotes. Cenotes were formed by naturally-acidic rain filtering down over thousands of years and dissolving away the limestone. Ancient Mayans believed the cenotes were an entrance to the underworld, so they were often used for sacrifices.

Located 18.5 kilometers west of Puerto Morelos, Cenote Verde Lucero is an open cenote with various small caves that visitors can explore. Its crystal clear water reaches a depth of 20 meters. Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling and diving, or even a Tarzan swing on a zipline. It will definitely become something unique that will remain forever in the memory!

멕시코의 유카탄 반도에는 세계에서 가장 많은 세노테라는 지하 싱크홀이 있다. 세노테는 수천 년에 걸쳐 자연적인 산성비가 석회암을 용해시켜 형성되었다. 고대 마야인들은 세노테는 지하 세계로 들어 가는 통로라고 믿었기 때문에 종종 세노테를 제물을 바치는 제사의 장소로 사용했다.

푸에르토 모렐로스에서 서쪽으로 18.5km 떨어진 곳에 위치한 이 세노테는 방문자가 탐험할 수 있는 다양한 작은 동굴이 있는 노천형 세노테이다. 크리스탈처럼 맑은 물은 깊이가 20미터에 이른다. 방문객들은 그곳에서 수영, 스노클링, 다이빙을 즐길 수 있으며 심지어 짚라인을 이용해서 타잔처럼 건너갈 수 있다. 이것은 분명히 영원히 기억에 남는 독톡한 경험이 될 것이다.
