The Holiday (2006)

Today is December 15. In just two weeks, we’ll be welcoming 2026. It’s the happiest time of the year — a perfect moment to look back on what you’ve achieved this year and to feel excited about what’s coming next year.

So today, I’d like to recommend another Hans Zimmer piece that I truly love. We all know him for his powerful, epic scores like Gladiator, Inception, Interstellar and The Dark Knight — but The Holiday is completely different. It reveals a much softer, more romantic side of his music, it just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

The movie is on Netflix now. The story itself is just okay—nothing mind-blowing—but the soundtrack really stands out. Listening to it on the drive home after work, with the city buzzing around you, is such a perfect vibe. Oh, and wait for 1:43, then turn the volume up a little—I’m sure you’re going to love it!

오늘 12월 15일이네요. 딱 2주만 지나면 2026년이에요. 연말은 우리가 1년 중 가장 행복한 시간이죠. 한 해 동안 쉴틈없이 달려온 성과를 돌아보면 마음이 뿌듯해지고, 새해는 또 얼마나 설렐지 기대하게 되잖아요. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

그래서 오늘은 제가 정말 좋아하는 한스 짐머의 작품을 하나 더 추천해 보려고 해요. 보통 한스 짐머 하면 「글래디에이터」, 「인셉션」, 「인터스텔라」, 「다크 나이트」처럼 웅장하고 압도적인 음악이 먼저 떠오르죠. 근데 「홀리데이」는 분위기가 완전히 달라요. 훨씬 부드럽고 로맨틱한 매력이 살아 있어서, 듣는 내내 기분이 몽글몽글해져요.

이 영화는 지금 넷플릭스에서 볼 수 있어요. 스토리는 그냥 무난한 편인데, 사운드트랙은 진짜 확실히 빛나요. 퇴근하고 집에 가는 드라이브길에 틀어놓고, 창밖으로 도시가 북적이는 걸 보면서 들으면 분위기 완전 딱이죠. 특히 1분 43초부터가 포인트예요. 그때 볼륨 살짝 올려서 들어보세요. 너무 좋아요! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
