Mulan (1997)

Hua Mulan(花木兰) was a legendary female warrior from the Northern and Southern Dynasties period (南北朝) of Chinese history. She disguised as a man , taking her aged father’s place in the army. She fought for 12 years and gained high ranks, but after the war, she refused any rewards and retired to her hometown. Mulan(木兰/목련) means magnolia in Chinese. Magnolia is my favorite flower, because it blooms in April. ^^

Father: What? It can’t be. Mulan…
아빠: 뭐? 이럴수가! 뮬란…
Mother: You must go after her. She could be killed.
엄마: 네가 빨리 애를 쫓아가. 그녀가 죽을 수 도 있어.
Father: If I reveal her, she will be.
아빠: 그런데 여자의 신분을 밝히면 사형당할 거야.
